In June 2024, eight middle and highschool educators from five local school districts participated in the STEM Hub's 3rd Annual Educator Externship. This three-day program deepened their knowledge of Advanced Manufacturing and Electro-Mechanical sectors through hands-on experiences at Columbia Gorge Community College and local industry sites like Zepher and Avangrid Klondike Wind & Solar Farms.

The externship featured tours of Columbia Gorge Community College’s Skills Center and Advanced Manufacturing Labs, along with a business simulation exercise led by industry partners. Partners included East Cascade Works, Columbia Gorge Community College, and Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
